In House Services :

Dietary :
Meals are served sit-down style in the dining room five minutes after the meal has been announced and at the following times

  • Breakfast 8:00 AM
  • Dinner 12:00 PM
  • Supper 5:00 PM

Seating :
Residents sit at numbered tables that accommodate five to six individuals. Seating is changed the first Wednesday of each month to allow residents to become better acquainted. Seating changes are posted one week in advance.

Substitutes :
Dietary staff will provide substitutes in accordance with the Food Policy, which is posted in the hallway on the Dietary bulletin board.

Guests :
If you expect to be away or would like to entertain guests at mealtime, please notify the Main Office in advance. Guests are welcome and fees are posted on the Dietary bulletin board. They are payable in the Main Office.

Refreshment Cart :
A refreshment cart is passed twice a day in the summer months and at 7:30 PM nightly the rest of the year. Beverages and snacks are available.

Trays :
Temporary meal service is provided in your room when you are ill.

Health Services :

Personal Care :
Personal Care Aides are on duty twenty-four hours a day and provide the following services:

  • Assistance with weekly bathing, partial dressing, grooming and personal hygiene
  • Assistance with scheduling any appointments necessary to maintain proper health care.

Transportation :
Transportation to and from appointments is provided on Tuesdays. Please notify the Health Office one-week in advance. A donation of $2.00 is appreciated.

The local SCAT Van (Senior Citizens Aid for Transportation, 253-0996JJ offers transportation with twenty-four hour's advance notice. A suggested donation of $1.00 is appreciated. Other medical transport or local taxi companies are also available, and their telephone numbers may be obtained at the Health Office.

Medications :
If you self-administer medications, they must be kept in a in a locked area at all times. You must keep the Nurse /Case Manager informed of all prescriptions and non-prescription medications you are taking. Assistance with medication is available.

Personal Laundry :
Laundry service is provided on the premises at no additional cost. Personal articles of clothing should be labeled with name tags, which are available to purchase through the
Housekeeping staff. Assistance with applying name tags will be provided if requested.

Laundry equipment is available 3:00-9:00 PM. weekdays and 7 AM - 9 PM weekends, should you prefer to do your own washing.

Nurse :
The Nurse/Case Manager is available Monday-Friday to answer questions you have regarding your health, personal care needs or medications.

House Keeping :

Room Cleaning :
Your room will be thoroughly cleaned once a week on a designated day. At this time, fresh linens will be provided and your bed will be made. Residents make their own beds the remainder of the time, if able to safely do so. If not, contact the Social Worker or Nurse/Case Manager.

Main Office :

Dry Cleaning :
A list of area dry cleaners that provide pick up and delivery may be obtained at the Main Office.

Mail :
Mail is received and sorted at the Main Office and then delivered to your MAILBOX. There is a mailbox for outgoing mail in the front hall, across from the Main Office. Postage stamps are available at the General Store.

Newspapers :
Arrangements to receive newspapers may be made by contacting the Main Office. If you prefer, you may share the morning and evening papers available in the front hall.

Banking :
Banking is done weekly on Tuesdays. Arrangements for banking can be made through the Main Office.

Personal Allowance Accounts :
Residents may open a Personal Fund Account with the Main Office. Funds are locked in the Main Office and can be accessed Monday-Friday, 9AM- 4PM.

Maintenance :

The Caretaker provides routine maintenance. Please notify the Main Office or Caretaker of your needs. Residents should make their own arrangements for repair of personal belongings. Names of repair services are available upon request through the Main Office.

For your Convenience :

General Store :
The General Store is open Monday and Thursday from 1-2 p.m. for your personal shopping needs. Greeting cards, stationery, stamps, candy, toilet articles, etc. are stocked for purchasing. Most special, non-medical items can be ordered through the General Store.

Library :
A permanent library is maintained for your reading pleasure. Many books are available in large print. The Finger Lakes Library System also supplies us with a selection of books which are rotated every few months. Talking books are available for those with limited vision. Arrangements are made for these or the Books by Mail Program through the Activities Office.

Suggestion Surveys :
Each department has a formal means of surveying your level of satisfaction. Please participate so we can continue to improve our services.

Telephone :
Each room is equipped with a telephone outlet. Residents may arrange for telephone service with the Phone Company, and are responsible for installation charges and payment of monthly bills. If you do not wish to have your own phone, there is a phone in the rear hall or in the Hairdresser's room for your use. The residents' telephone number is 252-6593. Your families and friends are welcome to call you at that number.

Hair Care :
Hair Care for men and women is provided by a licensed beautician for modest fees. Appointments can be made directly with the beautician who comes to the Manor twice weekly. Prices for services are posted in the hairdresser's room.

Storage :
A locked desk is provided in each room or your convenience in securing personal items and medication. Basement storage space is available upon request through the Main Office.

Security Safety :

Many precautions are taken for your safety. The building is equipped with a system that alerts the Fire Department automatically. Automatic sprinklers are located in all rooms.

Fire drills are held twice monthly without prior notification.
You are asked to stay in your room and close the door to your room and your bathroom door. Evacuation drills are held semi-annually without prior notification.

Intercoms are located in all rooms and around the building to enable residents to communicate with the Main Office at any time.

The building is monitored hourly by staff from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. Security back-up lights are strategically located throughout the building.

For your own protection, you are asked not to enter the kitchen. If you need something, please call the Main Office.

All outside exit doors are equipped with an alarm system which signals the office should the doors be opened after dark.

Smoking is not allowed in the building. A smoking area is provided.

No more than two electrical items may be plugged into any outlet. Use of multiple adapters is not allowed. Only one item may be plugged into an extension cord, which must be UL Listed. Extension cords exceeding six feet in length are prohibited.

All area rugs must be equipped with approved non-skid backing.
